Is SPARTA a set of perl or PHP scripts?

The core of SPARTA is a full apache module, to allow for best performance. SPARTA also comes with 3 PHP scripts which are the default login and logout page and the turing image script. You do not have to use those PHP scripts though, you can code your own CGI scripts for example that do the exact same thing as those PHP scripts do.

The reason the login page is a php script is so that you can display additional information on them that SPARTA provides to you on failed logins. The logout file just defaults to a .php extension, but that can be changed in the server configuration.
