SPARTA currently allows flat password files, an arbitrary mySQL database, or a NATS v2 or higher installation.
You can use 1 or all 3 of those methods to authenticate a member. SPARTA allows you to setup more than one authentication system, and tries them all in a row until a good login is found.
This way you could for example build a members area which allows access to members from more than one site, by simply adding all the password files to the authentication list for that members area.
